    Available for clients with or without a regular vet or when an experienced and unbiased opinion is preferred. Our goal is to provide clear, practical guidance tailored to you and your horse.   • Advanced equine dentistry

    With over 12 years of equine dentistry experience including an advanced veterinary practice certificate, Christopher and the team at CCEV can review and provide advanced opinions on all cases. Using a combination of state digital radiography, detailed examinations and state of the art, digital oroscopy, CCEV provides a comprehensive view on the oral health of your horse.

  • Surgical and Medical Referral services

    Through our established links with a number of hospitals and leading specialists, we offer same day specialist input on complex surgical or medical cases, including pre-and post-operative management plans, helping you make fully informed decisions about referral options.

CCEV offers advanced and experienced veterinary care to you, your horse and yard and with our longstanding affiliations with a number of specialist referral hospitals and specialist clinicians, we can arrange prompt hospital referrals for racehorses, sport horses and general ambulatory cases avoiding delay to patient care. 

We also work with a number of prominent orthopaedic, racehorse, imaging and medicine specialists to offer a review of cases on yard, to ensure leading specialist care is brought direct to you and your horse.

Costs vary depending on the case and level of investigation required. Most insurance policies cover second opinions – we can provide the necessary documentation.

How do you communicate your findings and recommendations?

You receive a detailed written report, and we are happy to discuss findings with you and your primary vet.

How does the consultation process work, and what can I expect?

We gather case history, review diagnostics, perform an examination (if required), and provide a clear, evidence-based plan. You’ll leave with actionable next steps.

What types of cases and conditions do you specialise in?

Lameness, poor performance, equine dentistry, medical cases along with offering second opinions across all equine ambulatory practice cases.

Do I need a referral from my primary vet?

No, we accept direct enquiries from owners, trainers, and vets. Where possible, we encourage collaboration with your primary vet for continuity of care.
